The CSHP CDT offers an integrated academic-industrial training model to deliver world-leading, ground-breaking training to a next generation of synthetic chemists, developing a sustainable, innovative chemistry culture that equips them to address major emerging and future global challenges in Human Health, Energy and Materials, and Food Security.

Industrial partners

A key element of the CSHP CDT training, we have engaged in partnerships with 20 companies and academic centres to provide a comprehensive, integrated training package. Our 10 industry partners have been substantially involved in the design of the programme and will co-develop and co-supervise every PhD project. They include BASF, the Centre for the Transformation of Chemistry, Ineos Institute Oxford, Janssen, Merck KGaA, MSD, SCG-Chemicals, Syngenta, Synthomer and Vertex.

We have also established partnerships with 10 SMEs, who will offer complementary expertise and training opportunities. They include Astex, CatSci, CHARM Tx, Cortex Organics, FluoRok, Isomerase, Isomorphic labs, NotPla, NRG Tx, and OXCCU. Our SMEs will be fully embedded in the activities of the CDT, ensuring benefit to these companies.
